Replacement of the Ruger charging handle took less than 5 minutes. Today went to the range and ran about 150 rounds through the 10/22 using the new Ext. Charging Handle. Makes the 10/22 feel like a "military gun", makes charging much easier on my old-man fingers.

Unfortunately it didn't work in my rifle. It caused binding somewhere that didn't allow the bolt to slide. It would get stuck pulled back and wouldn't return to battery.

Good extended handle, but needed some hand work

Well made, nice large handle, easy to install. However, it took about 30 minutes of stoning work to remove metal above the bolt face.Originally, I installed the handle and went to my outside range. The action wasn't smooth, and would occasionally not go into battery. The handle was rubbing on the inside top of the receiver slowing/stopping the bolt.Comparing the factory handle to this one I could see the difference in the height of the handle where it connects to the bolt. It was proud about 1/16 of an inch, particularly noticeable when viewed from the side.I took stones ranging from 150 to 600 grit to remove the excess to match the original handle. That took care of the problem. Since I work on my guns, I had the needed tools to do the job. But if you don't have the tools, you could have problems. While I have machine tools, the amount to remove was best done by hand. I ended by using Flitz polish with a Foredom Rotary tool to a mirror shine. Now the bolt runs smooth. Had it come perfect from the factory I would have given it 5 stars.
